North Of England Pekingese Club Open Show 8th February 2009 Thanks to everyone for a nice entry with quality dogs present making for a pleasant day. The show was well organised and I know lots of hard work had gone into it. I feel it was a privilege to be offered the opportunity to judge a club show and greatly appreciate it. Puppy Dog (2,1) 1st Clanese Love Child A well grown dog puppy of good type, head OK with and expressive well set eyes, short neck, true well boned front, carried a good coat of the correct texture which was well presented, well set tail, moved well. Best Puppy Dog and Reserve Best Puppy in Show. Junior Dog (4,2) 1st Palacegarden Osric A quality youngster just out of puppy, very good broad head with a wide under-jaw. Muscular neck into well laid shoulders, well boned front with tight elbows, well developed body, good hindquarters, well set tail, topped off with a good textured coat that was presented to advantage. He moved with style presenting a good outline. Pushed his kennel mate hard but had to be content with Res Best Dog today. 2nd Cairns Cerang Leo Another quality boy did not quite have the front of the winner, typical head and expression, short neck, good bone for size, still needs to develop in body and hindquarters, moved well, without any hesitation. Graduate Dog (1, 1) 1st Kybourne The Black Sphinx This black boy stood alone but was worthy of his first placing, expressive head and eye, true front with a well developed fore chest, good bone, well set tail, not as cooperative on the move as he could have been. Post Graduate Dog (6, 3) A difficult class as the first was not as well off for body as the second but the second was reluctant on the move and this cost him the class. 1st Pascan Play it Hot A quality dog of good breed type, good eye and expression, short neck onto well laid shoulders, he could carry more body to advantage, well set tail which he carried well, in good coat. He came into his own on the move and this won him the class.
2nd Palace Garden Fergus of Finfhorn This boy is a size larger than the winner and again is of good type, nice head with a large eye, true front with good bone, he carried a lovely body and was presented in good coat and condition. He was a little reluctant on the move and this cost him the class. 3rd Kybourne Eastern Mandarin Limit Dog (2,1) 1st Gelier Prince Charming This dog gave a good outline on the table, large head with true expression, good eye placement, front Ok, correct bone, good topline, could carry more body to advantage, moved well. Open Dog (6,3) 1st Palacgarden Mccafferty A quality dog with a lovely head well set eyes that were so dark, broad under-jaw, short neck into well laid shoulders, well developed fore chest, tight elbows. Good body properties and well muscled hindquarters. Super textured coat that was well presented. He moved with great dignity and style to win Best Dog and Best in Show . As point interest his delightful daughter was reserve Best Bitch and Best Puppy in Show so he is passing his qualities on. Well done. 2nd Bramblefiedls Henry Higgins A larger dog that was in tip top condition, true front with good bone, well developed body, well constructed hindquarters, maybe carrying just a little too much coat for me but it was of the correct texture and well presented. He has a nice head and expression, not quite the animation of the winner on the move. 3rd Gelier Price Charming Minor Puppy Bitch (1,1) 1st Livinda Miss Malone As she entered the ring she caught my eye for her great ring presence which is rare in one so young. Super wide head, flat between the ears, short neck , good front that is well developed for her age, good bone and feet, well sprung ribs and good body, well developed hindquarters, good tail set, true on the move, and to top this a super coat that was presented to perfection. She pushed the open winner hard for Best Bitch but had to give way to maturity but it was a close decision. Pleased to award her Best Bitch and Best Puppy in Show. I shall follow her progress with great interest, good luck for the future.
Puppy Bitch (3,0) 1st Livinda Misty Morning Sister to the winner of the last class and again another from the top drawer, good head and expression, short neck, quality bone and good feet, well developed body, in good coat that was again well presented, moved well presenting a good outline. 2nd Pascan Phoxglove Unlucky to meet the winner who is better off for body at this stage. She is a shade smaller than the winner but so well proportioned, lovely head and eye, well set ears, good neck and shoulder, true front, needs to mature in body but I’m sure this will come with age. Good coat of the correct texture. Moved well carrying herself confidently for one so young. 3rd Adventura Shakira By Kybourne
